Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) is a Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative control of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. Registered in September 1987, NPCIL operates atomic power plants and implements atomic power projects for electricity generation. The company is responsible for the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of nuclear power reactors. NPCIL is a profit-making, dividend-paying company with the highest credit rating (AAA). It currently operates 24 commercial nuclear power reactors with an installed capacity of 8780 MW and has 7 more reactors under construction. NPCIL also engages in CSR activities and implements projects related to Sustainable Development.
