In 1997 Wolkem established Fimakem India Ltd - a joint venture with Fimatec Japan - and was the 1st company to manufacture Ultrafine Wet Ground Calcium Carbonate Slurries (WGCC) in India. Fimakem meets majority of India's Wet Ground Calcium Carbonate requirements and is India's first ISO 9001 and 14001 certified Wet Ground Calcium Carbonate Company. Fimakem was the 1st company in India to bring the concept of setting up satellite WGCC plants which are dedicated to a particular Paper customer.
