The Siasat Urdu Daily was founded on August 15, 1949 by Abid Ali Khan and Mehboob Hussain Jigar, two visionaries who aimed to bridge the Deccan’s Muslims who remained in India after Hyderabad’s accession. It became a pioneer in Urdu journalism, promoting secularism and egalitarianism, and was the first Urdu newspaper to adopt new printing technologies and launch an e-paper in 2011.
