Description
Gabril Industries is the brainchild of our founder, Mr. Hriday Nath Bhat, who comes with vast experience, knowledge, and dedication to the craft. His grit, determination, and perseverance established him as a name to reckon with in the precision industry, which he started from scratch. After completing his mechanical engineering in 1967, Mr. Bhat’s career started as a trainee at (Hindustan Machine Tools) HMT. He swiftly rose through the ranks from an engineer to eventually setting up his own business in 1986, starting with an ancillary unit solely operating for HMT. With 15 years of experience in Horology, he expanded his operations and achieved success. HMT, at the time, was one of the Government of India’s significant ventures into manufacturing and industrialisation. Regarded as a highly competent employee at HMT, Mr. Bhat received the rare opportunity to meet the then Prime Minister of India, Smt. Indira Gandhi and then Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah. 1990 was a major turning point when he and his family were forced to leave Kashmir due to unrest and terrorism. Owing to a sudden displacement from his hometown and tough competition to HMT due to the transition from mechanical to automatic watches, life came to an unexpected halt. Relying confidently on his engineering acumen, our founder was undeterred by the situation and resolved to rebuild his business. In 2001, we redesigned and set up the machines to adapt to manufacturing new parts primarily for the automotive sector, which also requires high-precision components in the fuel injection system for two-wheelers (which holds one of the largest markets in India). All of this together accounts for an overall experience of 40+ years in hardcore manufacturing. Fast-forwarding to 2008, Gabril Industries was officially founded and established as a manufacturer of high-precision components. Mr. Bhat’s daughter Kanchan Bhat joined his endeavour to build a bigger future for the organisation. She is an architect by training and pursued her Masters in Sustainable Design from the prestigious University of Sydney. She derives her perseverance, determination and will from her father and also her extensive sporting background. She is disciplined and clear in the thought process and path ahead. With her she brings in fresh creative perspective, her eye for detail her extensive experience in business development from her previous work stint. She still practices design in her own time and works as a freelance designer and consultant. After joining GABRIL, she spent time on the shop floor to understand the nuances of the machines and their working. Mr. Bhat handheld her progress, and now she is invested in diversifying precision manufacturing into various other sectors. The unit that began with just two machines can now manufacture more than 2 million parts a month! Today, we have people working with the organization for 20-15 years trained under the guidance of our founder. The unit is currently engaged with some of the nation’s leading automakers.
