Tamilnadu Spinning Mills Association (TASMA), is an Association of Yarn Spinning Mills and other Industries, engaged in the Value Chains of Textile Industry, representing various Textile Sub-Sectors such as, Spinning, Weaving, Knitting, Garmenting & Processing, Home Textiles, etc. Further, TASMA is registered as a Society under the Tamilnadu Societies’ Registration Act 1975, with Registration No.330/1997 and is functioning for the past 25 years. TASMA is also a Registered Trade Union under the Trade Union Act 1926, bearing Regn. No. 356 / 2010. The Association is also affiliated with the Employers' Federation of Southern India (EFSI), Tamilnadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Madurai and Coimbatore District Small Scale Industries Association (CODISSIA), Coimbatore and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Madurai. The Association with the able Leadership of our President Shri.A.P.Appukutty (Chairman cum Managing Director of Chola Group of Textile Mills) and the Vice President Shri.P.V.Chandran (Chairman cum Managing Director of M/s. Ambika Group of Cotton Mills Limited), is effectively and eminently functioning during all these years and is continuing its services in the 25th Year successfully. TASMA penetrates in all the spheres of common issues, related to administration of every Textile Mill. The Chief Advisor of the Association Dr.K.Venkatachalam, is also the Chief Executive of the Association, who looks after the comprehensive administration of the Association, including financials and all other functional and administrative aspects and he is authorized to look after all the Secretarial functions of the Association as an Executive Head. The Association is being administered by a Team of Office Bearers, who are all honorary in their respective positions. The Office Bearers are, President Vice President Secretary Treasurer Joint Secretary Five Members of the Executive Committee These Office Bearers are elected to their respective positions, once in three years. The Secretariat of TASMA is functioning at #2, Karur Road, Modern Nagar, Dindigul – 624 001, Tamilnadu. At present, the Association is having 814 members on its roll. Any New Member joining the Association, would be contributing to the Association, by way of Membership Fee, for admission as New Member, under the Share of Contribution towards Reimbursement of Expenses and will be paying Renewal Fees also, under the same concept of Share of Contribution towards Reimbursement of Expenses, during subsequent financial years also, at the rates as fixed by the Association. Hence, the funds of the Association, are being contributed, wholly by the members alone and will be spent for protecting the interest of the members only and therefore, TASMA is always a Non-Profit Organization. Apart from the above activities, TASMA is also encouraging its members towards investments in Green / Renewable Energy Projects like Wind, Solar, etc. TASMA is also seriously engaged in the Skill Development activities and programs by implementing various schemes, in alignment with the Government of India's Mission, to eradicate Unemployment and Poverty in the Country. TASMA is also taking care of the interest of members, by representing the issues, if any, with the Government Authorities, then and there and is attempting to redress the grievances wherever possible. This Association is also challenging the views of the Government at appropriate Legal Forums, whenever Justice needs to be established, to restore the interest of its members through due process of law, when the representations filed yield no results.
