The name Akathiya is inspired by Akathiyar (அகத்தியர்), the Tamil name of the ancient sage Agastya, one of the most revered figures in Indian tradition. A master of Siddha medicine, plant science, and spiritual wisdom, Sage Agastya symbolizes the perfect union of knowledge, healing, and nature. By choosing the name Akathiya, we pay tribute to this timeless wisdom — passed down through generations — that still guides how we care for our bodies and our planet. It reflects everything we believe in: purity, tradition, sustainability, and honest self-care. Akathiya began in our small village Sillamarthupatti, with a formula my grandmother once used — made from native herbs, care, and tradition. With just ₹7,000 and her wisdom, I started making handmade soaps, not as a business, but as a way to bring back honest, natural self-care. What began at home slowly grew into something bigger. Today, Akathiya Natural Pvt Ltd is a proud FDA-licensed company, exporting our products to the USA and serving customers across India — but our heart still belongs to our roots.
