Manufactured and tested successfully 50 MVA, 220 KV class ester oil filled transformer. Advantages of Ester: Major advantage of Ester oil in high flash point and transformer do not catch fire. Fire safety measures like fire protection system; NIFPS, fire wall etc. can be eliminated. Hot spot temperature in case of ester oil can go higher up to 130℃ as compared to 98℃ for mineral oil, hence design optimization is possible. Reference iec standard is 60076-14, year 2004-11, “design and application of liquid immersed power transformers using high temperature insulation materials”. The company has installed facility to manufacture ester oil filled transformers up to 160 MVA, 220 KV class. VOLTAMP has successfully manufactured and tested 50 MVA, 220 KV class ester oil filled transformers.
