Flaker Knives

Apex Shears’ Knives for the OS8/MDF/Chipboard/Panelboard/Particleboard Industry are manufactured to ensure high productivity and excellent chip quality.   These knives are ground to tolerances to ensure uniformity in chip size. The abrasive effect of the wood and wood chips wears down the counter knives and wear plates thereby affecting the chip length. Hence high wear resistance is very important for these parts. Flaker Knives and components from 8% Cr Steel v/s  5% Cr Steel give better grinding intervals, wear resistance and performance. OSB/Flaker Machine Components such as Counter Knives, Wear Shoes, Pressure Lips etc are also made from special wear resistant tool steels designed to maximize value based on customers quality and price expectations.
