Granular activated carbon is defined as the activated carbon being retained on a 50-mesh sieve. Elite Carbon produces GACs with a variety of materials, methods and degrees of activation to produce activated carbons designed to meet and exceed the demands of a wide array of applications. GAC makes it suitable for removing a variety of contaminants from water, air, liquids and gases. It can be re-activated through thermal oxidation and used multiple times for same applications. GAC is optimal for use in vapor and liquid adsorption applications. Our coconut shell based activated carbon has a higher percentage of micro-pores, which makes it highly effective for the filtration of small organics structures, recovery of precious metals and reduction of disinfection byproducts (DBPs) in potable water.
