Description
Sulphurrized oil is a Red color low odor sulfurized mixture of natural and synthetic esters. It has been synthesized to provide non-corrosive sulfur with good solubility. Sulphurized lard oil may be used in formulating EP lubricants, slideway oils, metal cutting oils, industrial oils and many similar applications. Non-corrosive to yellow metals at 100°C, its sulfur activity increases with temperature resulting in an effective EP performance. Because of that, additional corrosion inhibitor may be added if needed. • Non-corrosive to yellow metals • Good oxidative and thermal stability. Characteristics Physical Appearance ColorTypical Values Clear, amber to reddish liquid Flash Point (°C) 180-250 Specific Gravity 98-100 Viscosity at 40°C (cSt) Viscosity at 100°C (cSt) Chemical Sulfur (% wt.) 10-18% Total Acid Number (mg KOH/g) 8-30% Sulphurised Lard oil can be blended with mechanical or in-line blending equipment at temperatures not above 195°F (82°C) or below 60°F (16°C). The additive may be heated to 100-195°F (40-82°C) for unloading or transfer, but should not be stored for long periods at temperatures over 100°F (38°C). Storing at elevated temperature for prolonged period of time may result in the additive darkening in color, but will not affect its performance.
