Graphite Foil/Seals

Metachem is an intercalated natural graphite product used in the manufacture of graphite foil. Carbofoil is expanded to it's full volume by heating at 1200ºC - 1300ºC in a furnace. After cooling it forms fluffy, worm type material, it is later pressed to produce a foil of any desired shape. Because of it's inert and non toxic nature and high melting points it can be used in gaskets and seals for petrochemicals, chemical process pumps and high temperature thermic fluid boilers. It is an alternative to Asbestos sheet traditionally used to produce gasket materials but now banned in many countries. It can also be used to manufacture carbon / carbon moulded components.
