Bending & Punching

Once the blank is produced, the next step is to form sheet metal using various tools, but most commonly a press brake uses die inserts to create a desired angular bend or punching to form a shape creating simple parts such as brackets up to highly complex geometries which may require custom die tools, forming the two-dimensional sheet into a three-dimensional object. Forming techniques can be Bending, Punching, curling or hydroforming. This makes sheet metal forming ideal for low to high volume production.
