Tool holders for boring holes in oil & gas require both strength and stability. The customer upgraded from W.Nr. 1.6582 / 4340 with heat treatment to Toolox 44. Toolox eliminated vibrations and offered longer service life.
A mould for plastic mugs was produced faster and more cost effective with Toolox 44 than with H13. As if that wasn't enough, the customer was extremely happy with the polishability.
The ability to resist wear at elevated temperatures is a key advantage of Toolox compared to standard wear resistant steels. In this bucket for mixing slag at up to 1500 ¡ÆC, Toolox was used in the entire bucket, increasing service life significantly.
In the aluminium die casting of the Vespa Piaggio Toolox replaced traditional H11 ESR. Manufacturing time was reduced by over a week, with similar service life.
