Tamilnadu Telecommunications Limited (TTL) was set up in 1988 as a three-way joint venture between Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL), a Government of India Enterprise, Tamilnadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDCO), a Govt. of Tamilnadu Enterprise, and Fujikura Limited of Japan. In 1998, TTL diversified into manufacturing state-of-the-art optical fiber cables in technical collaboration with Fujikura Limited, Japan. TTL's OFC Plant is located in CMDA Industrial Complex, Maraimalai Nagar, about 40 Kms from Chennai, equipped with machinery imported from Nextrom Technologies (Nokia), Finland.
