The Bharat Battery Mfg. Co. (P) Ltd. was founded by Late Sanchindra Prosad Saha in 1933 in Kolkata, West Bengal. Shri Saha was a chemical engineer of repute from Jadavpur University who successfully pioneered manufacturing of battery plates, lead oxide and battery containers in India. a self sufficient lead-acid battery production unit was established in Kolkata with complementary plant facilities in Sahibabad (UP) and Boinchee (Hoogly, West Bengal) with in-house production facilities of all components of battery viz. Container, Separator, Lead-oxide with state of the art testing (R&D Division) facilities and in-house battery equipment development and fabrication facilities. Today Bharat Battery is proud to have total highly skilled manpower of 250 dedicated personal and total plant area is spread over 10 acres. The R&D Division of Bharat Battery is approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. The Bharat Battery today is producing Low Maintenance lead-acid batteries for Train-lighting, Railway air-conditioning, Diesel loco starting, Signalling and Telecommunication equipment. Special batteries are also manufactured for various Defense applications. The Bharat Battery is also an ISO certified company and is proud to introduce its tubular range of batteries for inverter applications. The Bharat Battery is also set to launch state-or-the-art automotive batteries for the replacement market soon. The Management of Bharat Battery is confident that quality will yield loyal customers and rely strongly on quality of service.
