Epoxidized Natural Oils – Sustainable plasticizers and heat co-stabilizers

Secondary plasticizers, co-stabilizers and acid scavengers which add flexibility and extend the lifetime of PVC, coatings and other polymers.
Lankroflex™ & Plas-Chek® epoxidized soybean oil (ESO), Lankroflex™ epoxidized linseed oil (ELO) and Lankroflex™ ED6 are secondary heat stabilizers that are used in a wide variety of flexible PVC formulations. These epoxies are secondary plasticizers and co-stabilizers for PVC, used in a wide variety of applications including flooring, construction, automotive, roof covering, medical and food contact film. Our Epoxy plasticizers are used to add flexibility to PVC and boost heat stability during processing and the final article lifetime. These products, which are in increasing demand due to their high content of renewable carbon are non-hazardous and as such represent a good alternative for the polymer industry when replacing existing products, either as diluents or reactants.

Lankroflex™ L (Epoxidized Linseed Oil)

Lankroflex™ L is a low odor product with resistance to extraction by water, oils and solvents. It is the most effective co-stabilizer on the product range due to its high oxirane value. Lankroflex™ L will freeze at low temperatures but melts to form a clear liquid when reheated between 40°C and 60°C.

Plas-Chek® 775 and Lankroflex™ E2307

Lankroflex E2307 and Plas-Chek 775 Epoxidized soya bean oils are low odor products with resistance to extraction by water, oils and solvents as well as wide approvals for food contact and medical applications. These products will freeze at low temperatures but melt to form a clear liquid when re-heated between 40°C and 60°C.

Lankroflex™ ED6

Lankroflex™ ED6 is a low odor epoxy ester that has resistance to extraction by water, oils and solvents. It is a secondary plasticizer and co-stabilizer and has the lowest oxirane value of our epoxy range.

Lankroflex™ E2447

Lankroflex E2447 will provide excellent thermal stability characteristics when used at 3 – 10 phr in combination with a primary stabilizer such as a calcium/zinc liquid, solid or paste stabilizer. Lankroflex E2447 has been specifically developed to give improved performance over the standard Lankroflex L grade in terms of migration of impurities into liquid media being stored in the finished PVC article. It is particularly recommended for use as an additive for plasticized PVC containers for aqueous solutions for intravenous infusion and blood components, is listed in the European Pharmacopoeia and also has FDA approval.
