Speaking about Varsidhi’s current product range, Nithin highlighted, “We primarily produce recycled coloured yarn, with major counts being 20s, 30s, and 40s. While quality is at the heart of everything we do, we equally value nurturing lasting customer relationships. This combination has been key to driving our current growth.” While Varsidhi exports a portion of its yarn to countries like the USA and South Africa, the bulk of its production serves the domestic market. “We export a small percentage, but the majority of our output is focused on meeting local demand,” Nithin added.

From its inception, “What started with just 200 rotors has today become a testament to relentless dedication and innovation. Over the years, we’ve grown exponentially, expanding our rotor capacity to more than 3,500”, Nithin shared. This incredible journey reflects not just numbers, but a story of ambition and the belief that with the right people and a shared vision, anything is possible. The company operates four manufacturing units, all located around Udumalpet, with the most recent one established in 2023.” This latest facility is set up with cutting edge spinning systems dedicated exclusively to producing bleached white yarn, catering to the hosiery segment, “he noted.

Varsidhi’s ability to stay ahead of the curve is rooted in its innovative approach. “We were among the first to enter the recycled OE market in South India. In 2008, we achieved the development of 40s count in OE spinning, which was groundbreaking at the time. Traditionally, OE spinning was associated with coarser counts, but we changed that perception,” Nithin proudly stated. He emphasized that the company’s achievement was particularly impressive given that the 40s count was achieved on older-generation machines. “Today, newer machines make it easier, but back then, it was a significant technical feat,” he added. Varsidhi’s research and development efforts are spearheaded by Nithin’s father, Mr. J.Arun Prasad, a textile technologist by profession. “Our R&D is continuously focused on pushing the boundaries of sustainability, and we are working towards more innovations in the near future,” Nithin revealed.

Sustainability is at the heart of Varsidhi’s operations. Nithin underscored the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility, stating, “Our products are inherently sustainable, with around 60-80% of our yarn composition made from recycled materials. Additionally, our entire manufacturing process is powered by renewable energy—80% of which comes from our own sources, while the remainder is procured from renewable energy providers. This means every product that leaves Varsidhi is made using 100% renewable energy.”

Looking ahead, Varsidhi is focused on forward integration in the sustainable fashion sector. “Our vision is to create a fully integrated operation, where we process fiber and deliver finished garments. We’ve already taken steps in that direction, having launched our fabric division this year. By 2030, we aim to be a key player in the sustainable fashion eco-system” Nithin explained. Moreover, Varsidhi is dedicated to exploring alternative spinning techniques beyond traditional methods. “Our forward-thinking approach will continue to set us apart in the textile industry as we grow and innovate,” he concluded.
