BMR group of Industries is a vertically integrated group of companies that provides end to end solution to Shrimp farmers with highest degree of transparency and honesty. The first of these companies was started in 1991, as a shrimp farm culturing Indian giant tiger shrimp, Penaeus monodon, at Iskapalli in Andhra Pradesh followed with the establishment of tiger shrimp hatchery in Nellore in 1993. In the following years, more than 12 shrimp hatcheries were initiated by the Group. Because of the continued disease problem for tiger shrimp, in 2004, BMR group initiated a pilot project of importing, Specific Pathogen Free Pacific White legged shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei. In 2009, Based on the success of vannamei farming in the Pilot programme, Government of India introduced vannamei for commercial culture in the country. In 2014, BMR Group established a shrimp processing and export facility in Andhra Pradesh. In 2013, Mr. Manoj Beeda, son of Dr. B. Masthan Rao, initiated a new firm for overseas shrimp marketing – “Claswin Seafood LLC” in New Jersey, USA. Later in 2021, Mr. Manoj established a domestic meat market – ISKAPO’S FRESH CHOPS, in Chennai with retail stores and home delivery hubs. Further in 2016, the first shrimp feed plant was established followed by a second feed plant in 2018. In 2016, BMR Group was permitted by the Government of India for the establishment of Broodstock Multiplication centre for SPF vannamei in collaboration with Blue Genetics, Mexico, a subsidiary of Group Grimaud, France and the first BMC of vannamei in private sector was established in 2019 at Kavali, Andhra Pradesh.
