Noting limited availability and use of tissue products in India, Mr. T. K. George started Modern Paper Products, a proprietorship firm, back in 1986. The existing units then used primitive and unhygienic methods for tissue conversion. Modern Paper Products started using automatic machinery for converting Paper Napkins and Toilet Rolls. As demand increased, the number of machines was increased and capacities enhanced. A variety of products like Facial Tissues, 2-ply napkins, Kitchen Towels, Wet tissues were also added. In the Year 2004, Modern Paper Products was amalgamated with two other sister concerns to form George & George Hygiene Products (P) Ltd. Along with MNCs entering India, new office hygiene products like C-fold towels, Multi-fold towels and JRT (Jumbo Roll Tissue) were introduced. All machinery were constantly upgraded or replaced with latest technology, simultaneously increasing shop floor space. Seeing the demand for high quality Napkins increase, New Machinery was imported to produce an entire new range of 2 Ply Napkins in Virgin stock. These are very well received in the market, with steady increase in demand. A variety of tissue paper stock, both Indian and Imported, is constantly maintained to ensure smooth production. Stringent checks are kept during procurement and quality control checks are done during conversion at various stages and only the best quality packaging materials used.
