Ferro Alloys

Ferro Alloys refers to various alloys of iron with a high proportion of one or more elements like manganese or silicon. It is used in the production of all kinds of steel and alloys as a raw material. They impart distinctive qualities to steel and cast iron or serve important functions during production. The leading Ferro Alloy producing countries are China, South Africa and Russia. The principal ferro alloys are Ferro Manganese, Ferro Chromium, Ferro Silicon, etc. Ferro alloys are prepared from charges of the non-ferrous metal ore, iron ore, coke or coal and flux by treatment at high temperature in sub-merged arc furnaces.
