Naltoli began in the gardens of Assam flat, alluvial land fed by the Brahmaputra, where the conditions for tea are unlike anywhere else on earth. For years, we operated quietly in the background: a bought leaf factory sourcing fresh green leaves from small, independent tea growers and processing them into made tea for bulk sale. What we observed along the way troubled us. The tea that left our factory vibrant, full-bodied,true to Assam bore little resemblance to what eventually reached the consumer. Blended, stored, re-packaged. The character of a specific place, a specific harvest, an honest leaf averaged out. Naltoli as a brand exists to close that gap.
