Story of India's leading Fast Moving Electrical Goods company. Late Thakurdas Jaisinghani established Sind Electric Stores in 1964. His sons started managing the business in 1968 and formed Thakur Industries in 1975 to manufacture cables & wires. 'Polycab Industries' was registered in 1983. The company was incorporated as Polycab Wires Private Limited in 1996 and set up a facility for various cables in Daman in 1998. Polycab broke revenue records, crossing INR 10,000 Mn in 2006 and INR 31,000 Mn in 2011. In 2013, Polycab entered the 'switches' segment, followed by diversification into fans and LED lighting in 2014. A joint venture was formed in 2016 for a copper rod plant, and capabilities expanded in Roorkee for ceiling fans. In 2017, a joint venture was established for LED lighting products. Polycab listed on BSE & NSE in 2019 with a highly subscribed IPO and commenced manufacturing of Water heaters. In 2020, the company bought out its stake in Ryker, launched HOHM for smart homes, and rejuvenated its focus on the export market. In 2023, Polycab refreshed its brand from 'Connection Zindagi ka' to 'Ideas.Connected'.
