Sarron is derived from the Punjabi word “ਸਰੋਂ” for mustard. We dream and conceptualise timeless contemporary wear, exquisitely tailored and handmade by artisans. We exclusively use handwoven textiles for creating our slow, handmade garments. Our journey at Sarron began with the exploration of traditional Indian hand weaving techniques across India. That's when we came across Jamdani, a centuries old Mughal craft, that produced the softest cotton known to mankind, and mushroomed in undivided Bengal before being decimated under the British rule. While the legendary muslin fabric is extinct today, the Jamdani craft is in its revival stage now making its place in contemporary fashion. We only use Jamdani as well as similarly soft and comfortable handloom fabrics for all of our clothing. We only work with a small cluster of villages in a 20km radius near Bardhaman in West Bengal to craft and source our handloom fabrics. We practise slow fashion . We only manufacture ethically and slowly in limited quantities and small batches to make sure each piece is made to last. Our artisans are paid above prevailing market wages and work in a relaxed environment to ensure their overall well-being. When you buy from us, you are essentially buying timeless heirloom fabrics, exquisitely handmade and tailored into contemporary forms to be worn season after season, and passed onto future generations.
