Suguna began in 1984 as a poultry farm of 200 broiler birds at Udumalpet, Tamil Nadu, set up by B. Soundararajan and G. B. Sundararajan. When chicken prices swung around 1990, it started contract farming: Suguna supplies chicks, feed and veterinary care, and buys back the birds. It now works with 40,000+ farmers in 15,000+ villages across 18 states, runs 70 feed mills supplying about 3 million tonnes of feed a year, hatcheries and processing plants, and reports turnover above ₹9,380 crore. Its brands include Suguna Chicken, Suguna Feeds, Delfrez, Mother's Delight and Microze.
