Custom Propellers

Custom design propellers are produced to deliver the most effective performance for the vessel. Using the latest CFD modelling, digital design optimization tools and years of experience our highly qualified design team ensures the vessel achieves the desired speed and best fuel economy. Most propeller companies will adapt an existing propeller pattern or model to try to suit the required installation, but this is inevitably a compromise which in turn will compromise the vessel performance. At Teignbridge we know that each vessel is unique and each voyage profile is different. Therefore, only a custom designed bespoke propeller can offer the optimum solution. Teignbridge have developed a rapid design and manufacturing process which bypasses the need for a traditional propeller pattern and allows us to make a bespoke propeller for the vessel, custom designed and rapidly but without compromising on quality. For even higher performance and improved cavitation avoidance, the company uses its very successful and highly efficient, C-FOIL propeller design. Independent computer modelling by Plymouth University, tank testing by Newcastle University and comparative sea trials have shown that this ground breaking design generates approximately 5% more thrust and increases efficiency over standard propeller designs, providing the vessel with a further improvement in performance and fuel economy.
