This two-part system consists of a fork-shaped conductive probe and a dedicated control board driven by the highly stable LM393 voltage comparator. Available at Tomson Electronics, this module measures the electrical resistance of the soil. Dry soil has high resistance, while wet soil has lower resistance. The control board interprets this data and provides dual output modes: a digital output (DO) for a simple high/low moisture trigger, and an analog output (AO) that allows your microcontroller to track precise, gradual changes in soil dampness over time. The onboard potentiometer allows you to easily calibrate the trigger threshold for different soil types.
