ABSORBABLE SURGICAL SUTURE (SYNTHETIC) Monofilament Polydioxanone barb suture is sterile, synthetic, absorbable surgical sutures made from polydioxanone. They are available in clear (undyed) and violet (dyed) forms. The polymer has the repeating unit —[O-(CH2) 2-0-CH2-CO]n- and is manufactured without stabilizing or antioxidizing agents, with residual monomers, catalysts, heavy metals, and solvents controlled within specified limits. Intended Use: Monofilament Polydioxanone Barb suture is intended for use in general soft tissue approximation or ligation where an absorbable monofilament suture is required.
