Hunger-Group started its own operation in Kolkata (West Bengal, India) in 1987 as a wholly-owned Non-Resident Office (NRO). In 2006, the Hunger Management decided to set up their first manufacturing unit in India. As a result, a wholly owned subsidiary by the name of W. Hunger Hydraulics India Pvt. Ltd. was formed in November 2006 in Kolkata. Up to this point, the company had been concentrating on the distribution of all the Hunger products in India. The opening of the new factory will extend the company’s initial focus to the production of standard, Hi-tech polymer based seals and bearing elements for hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders to cater the Indian market and subsequently to export markets. Additionally, the repair of hydraulic cylinders has been added to our capabilities in India. The company purchased a plot having an area of approximately 0.6 acres for setting up this factory. The factory commenced its operation in 2010 and initially employed around 30 highly skilled personnel for the high-tech production.
