Role of Mother Coils:

• Mother coils are the raw material used to produce the laminated transformer cores, especially when sourced as a CRGO mother coil.
• They are made of cold-rolled grain-oriented steel, which has superior magnetic properties than regular steel.
• The mother coils are slit into narrower strips, stacked, and then cut to the desired shape to form transformer core laminations from high-quality CRGO coils.
• This allows the transformer core to be constructed with the optimal grain orientation of the CRGO steel, maximising the magnetic properties and efficiency of the transformer using a CRGO mother coil.
