Molasses is the thick, dark syrup remaining after sugar crystallization i.e. after the process of centrifugation. The key intermediate and final products that emanate during the sugar manufacturing process are B Heavy Molasses, C Heavy Molasses and bagasse. B Heavy molasses is an intermediate product which is lighter in colour and has higher sugar content. C Heavy molasses, on the other hand, is the final by-product that is left behind after multiple stages of crystallisation and has a lower sugar content. We use the B Heavy and C Heavy molasses that emanate during the sugar manufacturing process as raw materials for our ethanol production.
