Bagasse is another by-product product of the sugar manufacturing process. It is the fiber left behind when sugarcane stalks are crushed. Spent wash is the residual effluent produced during the fermentation and distillation processes in ethanol production from sugarcane molasses. Typically, for every liter of ethanol produced, 8 to 10 liters of spent wash is generated, making its disposal a significant environmental concern. Bagasse and Spent wash were used as a fuel source for our sugar and ethanol plants for producing renewable energy. We use bagasse and spent wash as a fuel for our incineration boiler for distillery and for the co-generation of power and thereby reducing the usage of fossil fuels and contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gases.
