Rosinated DCO Alkyd Resin

Medium oil alkyd resins that are modified with rosin to give faster drying and improve hardness. They are soluble in both aliphatic type solvents (white spirit) and more strong solvents like xylene or toluene. Rosinated alkyd are mainly used in furniture coating where good gloss and hardness is needed. It also finds application in general purpose enamel & paints.   Solubility : Soluble in aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, Light Solvent Naptha (LSN), Acetate esters, Mineral Oil Turpentine (MTO), Cellosolve, insoluble in alcohols.   Applications: Quick drying finishes, furniture coatings, primers and undercoats, stoving enamels *. *Stoving with 0.03% cobalt & 0.3% lead at 150°C for 30 minutes yields excellent films.
