Frequently asked questions

Q. How do I prove I belong to a Vishwakarma trade?
Self-declaration is the starting point. The Gram Panchayat or ULB verifies your trade practice through local enquiry. Carry samples of your work and any existing customer references.
Q. Can I apply if I am already a beneficiary of PM Awas Yojana or PM-KISAN?
Yes — these are not credit-linked schemes. The 5-year exclusion only applies to PMEGP, PM-SVANidhi, and PMMY Mudra credit-linked schemes.
Q. Is the Rs. 15,000 toolkit grant repayable?
No. It is an outright grant. You receive an e-voucher redeemable on GeM (Government e-Marketplace) to procure tools specific to your trade.
Q. What if my application is rejected by the District Committee?
You can appeal to the State Screening Committee within 30 days. Common rejection reasons: trade not in approved list, family member already registered, missing local trade evidence.
